Save anything you like from the web into your Flipboard.
We thought about reviewing Flipboard extension before, but it seems a bit odd to write about an extension that you can use afterwards only on your mobile device..
But, as of today, Flipboard is available also on your web browser!!
We checked out the new web version and it works pretty nice.
Now, the Flip It extension is something that can be considered…
What this extension does?
It lets you save your favorite stories, images and videos from across the web into your own Flipboard magazines and create new magazines on any topic, with 2 or 3 clicks.
When you see something you like and you will may be interesting to see in your Flipboard feed, you can click the extension button, and it’ll open a small new window:
In the example above, you can see that we clicked on the Flip It button on the Extension Zone homepage.
After signing in (if you’re not in already), you will be asked to choose a cover photo to the magazine, and add the magazine to your feed.
We must say that we were a bit disappointed, for 2 main reasons:
1) The flow and experience weren’t 100% clear.
It’s a bit poor, especially for a company that is so good in user experience.
2) The functionality is all wrong – If we can choose how to build a Flipboard extension, it will be an extension that first presents the feed and magazines (like the app), and adding new magazines is just one more feature.
Keep on flipping 🙂
Who is it for? Flipboard users
We think they can do much more.
It’s OK, but should improve its functionality.
